Prague - March 2016

I have visited Prague for two reasons - to sightsee and to party. Indepentent Student's Association organised a weekend trip there, and took care that we did a lot of both.

After a night of travelling by bus, we arrived to Prague early in the morning. We were dropped off the bus at a hill from where we had a magnificent overview of the entire city in the morning fog. That moment all tiredness from the journey went away and I was ready to sightsee.

The group was devided into smaller groups and we were having a field game to get to know the city. We were given maps and a list of quests to complete, so we did. We walked down that hill and arrived at Hradczany castle. Unfortunately, we did not see the interiors. We took a quick glance around Hradczany, then walked down to Charles' bridge and to the old town. We took our time there, seen most of the imporant monuments, had lunch and good Czech beer, then we returned to the hostel to have some rest before partying together in the evening.

The second day we letf the hostel quite late. About noon we were back in the old town ready to see something more. My friend and I eventually detatched trom the group and wandered on our own nearly all day. We took much less touristic routes discovering charming alleys and squares at both banks of Vltawa river. Enjoying Trdelniks (sweet snacks) as we went.

I really appreciated Prague, as a big fan of art nouveau I was delighted with all the details in architecture there. Reproductions of Alphonce Mucha's Art was available to purchace at every gift shop (next to bottles of Absynth and Marihuana flavoured candies). Prague's old town is so vast and well preserved, with retro cars and trams that you can actually feel as if you time traveled a century to the past.

Also it provides lots of opportunities to keep yourself entertained and have good fun. We partied in Karlove Laznie, the biggest club in Prague and also had a party-cruise on Vltawa River, which was totally brilliant. I regret not taking any photos of Prague by night, but I decided that it was safer to leave the camera.

Enjoy a bunch of shots of Prague, then!
